Change happens. That never changes. In the first days of the internet, wow, even before Windows, when every pc command was manually tapped in, no graphics, black-and-white screen, it was pretty much like early ham radio. Rumors went around that Money would sniff out potential profit and the web would become one global mall. Millions of web sites all touting their stuff. Now you can buy anything from anywhere, find the cheapest prices, read reviews of sellers and their goods. But also it's a source of every kind of information, of connecting folk with common needs and interests, of forming virtual relationships, of putting out a public diary. My web site is a bit of everything. Foremost, it lists my books, makes it possible for folk to buy them and they do. It tells something about them for students with assignments. And from time to time there's an item in this blank space - not that often! Anyway, I've cleared the cobwebs and rustled up something that might be of passing interest to readers with small children. Since most of my work is created for adults and young adults, I'm posting below in Shockwave format work created specifically for the very young. Bin Gone Fish'n Helping home-school three bright rumbunctious barbarians - the Barbs. English, French, Classical Latin & Greek, Piano, Table Manners Extra. One of the side effects: making animations for them. Before the kids could walk I created a number of nursery rhymes complete with tunes and sound effects which they love and still dip into. Unfortunately, I created them in Director, for DVDs on a computer. And nobody uses Director any more but have you any idea what it would take to reconstruct them in other software? Anyway, I've just figured out how to put them on this web site. I think. Don't know how to turn off the repeat yet though so you have to click out fast when they're done! (As with the original compositions on this website, I tapped out the tunes in Finale and recorded them on digital keyboard.) The shortest movie is Hey Diddle-diddle. Just hit the picture and play!
These other samples are bigger but my guinea pigs seem to open them without too much pause. If bits and pieces seem to be missing at first, just refresh the page and that should work. Here goes:
